A Travelling Lighter podcast

Jac O'Keeffe joins the Travelling Lighter podcast for a wide-ranging conversation about ethics, integrity, and accountability in spiritual leadership. Drawing on her own path through healing work, time in India, and decades of teaching, Jac discusses the gap between non-dual realization and the human behavior of those who teach it — and why "I have no ego" is never an excuse for harm.

A central focus is the association Jac co-founded for spiritual leaders, Association for Spiritual Integrity (ASI). She describes what it actually takes to build accountability into spiritual communities: codes of ethics, harm and conflict response processes, ongoing shadow work, and peer support for leaders who are often surprisingly isolated. The conversation gets honest about narcissism in spiritual spaces, the underrepresentation of women teachers, and the patriarchal structures that have shaped how students and teachers alike understand authority.

Jac also touches on her own teaching work — retreats, one-on-one sessions on Zoom, and recordings available on her website — and her interest in bridging the full spectrum from awakening to embodied, integrated humanness.
